The Office of Community-Engaged Leadership hosts various events to help the campus community engage in service and leadership opportunities.
Blood Drive
Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs a blood donation, but only five percent of the eligible population typically donates. Our students coordinate one of the largest single-day, single-site blood drives in the nation to help contribute to this overwhelming need.
Days of Service
CEL sponsors a monthly opportunity for service, reflection and education. In this one-day event, participants are urged to consider their impact and greater role in the world around them.
Don't Throw It Away
Each spring, students donate their unwanted items when they move out of dorms and apartments. These items which were once destined for the landfill are then gathered for our office's BIG Sale. Together, these events highlight App State's commitment to sustainability and demonstrate how positive action makes our community a better place to live.
LeaderShape Catalyst
Catalyst is a one-day program focused on learning to develop your own authentic path, connect to groups and causes you care about, and commit to a plan to be a catalyst for yourself and the groups you’re part of. You’ll consider powerful questions that move you towards action: Am I on the right path? Who do I want to be? How can I connect with other like-minded individuals?
